The age groups for racing are based on age at the 31 December of the year the race takes place, and hence could be different for children in the same year group at school.
The age groups are as follows:
Once over the age of 16, children can enter a limited number of adult races such as the Walden Triathlon and there a a few Junior races for those under the age of 20. Race Distances

Race distances are not precise. No two events are the same as the transitions between each discipline are included in the race.
There are opportunities for those is TriStar 3 and Youths to participate in open water races with drafting allowed on the bike such as the races at Eton Rowing Lake in late June (see the race calendar). These tend to be organised nationally and usually attract good quality fields. |
