We are delighted that you have decided to visit the junior pages of the WaldenTRI website. The Junior Section is very much part of the bigger senior club and many of the coaches and helpers play a very active part in both parts of the club.

Rob McLean Triathlon 2011

The Junior Section was formed in September 2009, following a pilot during that summer. Since then the juniors has grown rapidly to nearly 120 members in four training groups making us one of the largest junior triathlon clubs in the country. We currently have a growing waiting list for Groups 1 to 3 and have a few spaces reserved for girls in the oldest Group 4. Our philosophy is one of enabling the children to participate in the sport of triathlon in a fun and social environment so they form friendship groups outside of their schools with sport as a shared interest. You can see some these activities on the news and race reports page.

The website is set up to provide you with as much helpful information about the club as possible. However, out main form of communication is through a weekly newsletter emailed to all members, and via a SMS text messaging facility which we use in emergencies, such as when training is cancelled at short notice.

We hope you enjoy the site. If you are interested in joining the club there are details of how you can do this on the joining page of the website. If you  have any other queries about the club please do not hesitate to contact the Junior Head Coach - Geoff Jones at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Injured Soldiers Fund

Since 2008, WaldenTRI have been supporting the charity Teenage Cancer Trust.

In 2011, member votes have led us to support the Injured Soldiers Fund instead. Our donation will be calculated from a portion of club proceeds and a portion of race entry fees from WT11. WaldenTRI are very proud and pleased to be able to make a contribution to our local community. Read more
