10 Mile Time Trials
|
This year we will be joined not only by Stortford Tri Club but also Walden Velo, which will mean more riders, more friendly competition and more camaraderie. If you are new to time trials then I strongly urge you to have a go regardless of your perceived abilities. Time Trials work on the principle of launching one rider at set intervals with the fastest going last. The idea is that you try to avoid being caught by the riders behind. By doing so, you learn to push your limits, build your fitness with High Intensity Training and learn how to endure the pain to achieve your own personal best. A great way to make big gains on your Triathlon bike leg. The meeting point is near the Audley End bus stop, however, if you are coming by car then please park at the Fighting Cocks pub car park and ride carefully towards the start. Registration will start at 7pm sharp. Please note the times listed below are the race start times so, arrive 30 minutes before this time to allow for sign-in, warm-up and compulsory race briefing. Warm-up must not be conducted on the course. The price will be 1 clip of your membership card or £3 for non-members. At the end of the ride, join us in the pub for a very well deserved beer, especially the volunteers and supporters. This year we have a strong team of leaders and helpers and the boys and girls on the tech team have done a sterling job of ensuring the results and leader board will be readily available on the internet for you to track your progress and of course watch your times getting quicker and quicker. Remember. No helmet. No ride. Back lights are also mandatory and as of the 1st June front lights will also be mandatory. This year we will be operating a basic points scoring system for Waldentri Club members. Split with equal points being available to male a female riders. There will also be an 'open' category for fastest male and fastest female of the season. POINTS SCORING
Each rider scores minimum of 1 point for finishing 10 points awarded for volunteers with no more than 2 races counted. If a tie then the person with the most participated races wins. Winner must have participated in at least 3 races for both the Club points and the 'Open' Category. DATES & TIMES
Finally, please remember to follow the Highway Code at all times and remember this is an open public road. |
