Walden TRI Club Championships Report 2007
After 5 rounds of the Club Championship and 26 race performances by 16 different club members it came down to the last race of the season at Waveney 2 to decide who would be crowned the first winner of the Club Championship.
Going in to the last round Liam Brook was in the lead but proving that a Championship series is all about consistent performance and avoiding injury throughout the season Liam was not racing due to injury. That left it pretty much a two horse race between George Alexander and Jack Peasgood. Despite the score in the Championship depending both on overall performance and performance within your age group as they went out on to the run it was clear that Jack had built up a 2 minute lead by the end of the bike, a lead that was further extended on the run and proved decisive in the final results.
Coming in to the final race Jack was marginally behind George but his performance at Waveney 2 pushed him well up into the top spot and Jack is a well deserved winner of the first Club Championship and can rightly sport the title of Walden Tri Club Champion for 2007.
Many congratulations to Jack for a season that within the Championship series alone shows Age Group wins in all races he entered and some excellent overall performances. George's second place finish includes two age group wins with Greg Lewis' busy season putting him in 3rd spot in the table, narrowly stopping David from putting a second Peasgood in the top 3.
The challenge is down for next year now.
