Despite the unseasonably cold weather, this year’s event was another great success. We have had an enormous amount of complimentary emails from novices and experienced triathletes, all stating how impressed they were with the organisation of WT10. We have also received some useful suggestions for improving the event which we will digest and discuss.

Firstly, congratulations must go to our very own Louise Rolfe, Sarah Brown and Louise Denning. They pulled off a terrific performance to win the ladies team prize from Cambridge Ladies and to cap that an outstanding personal performance from Louise made her the overall ladies winner in 1 hr:23mins.

As usual a big thank you must go to the Race Committee, headed by Ian, which really did an amazingly good job. Thank you to all the marshals, we received a number comments about how friendly and encouraging you were.

Our planned upgrades, based on feedback from last year’s race were successful.  The new Finish Gantry looked very professional and the chip timing and touch screen at the Finish line worked well, with the complete results available within thirty minutes of the last competitor crossing the line.

We will start planning WT11 soon!  Anyone who would like to become a member of the Race Committee will be most welcome.

Finally, thank you to the Carver Barracks Catering Corp who served up bacon butties non stop and to Cathy Gunn for providing pre and post race massage, with proceeds from both going to our charitable fund. As a result we were able to present a cheque to the Teenage Cancer Trust for £1000!
