4km run, 20km bike, 4km run.

The Great Notley Spring Duathlon is promoted by Born2tri. It is based at Great Notley Country Park in Braintree, with the attraction of a beautiful parkland venue but very accessible with good road links from the A120 and A131, along with ample parking. We will have access to changing, shower and café facilities within the Discovery Centre with competitors toilets adjacent to transition. The race starts and finishes with a 4km run within the confines of the country park. You will run on a mixture of grass and surfaced paths, with a challenging hill included in the run. The transition to the cycle section is on a grass area adjacent to the access road. The cycle course is all ‘on road’, consisting of two 10km laps offering a fast but enjoyable ride through Rayne, Willows Green and Great Leighs before returning to the centre for the final run. The manageable distances and traffic free run course makes it an ideal race for novices and young competitors, minimum age 15yrs on race day. All the courses will be well signed and marshalled and it will benefit from chip timing.
We are limiting the numbers so book early, on reaching the entry limit we will keep a small waiting list to replace those who have to withdraw. Further details about the race will be placed on the Born2tri website (www.born2tri.co.uk) as we get closer to the race day.
